If you start massage due to injury 2-3 times a week is common to heal injuries quicker.... once you are considered to be on the mend and your muscles are starting to feel better once a week.... to biweekly is recommended. Finally the goal of preventative massage is once a month to maintain range of motion of joints, increase circulation and decrease restrictions of muscles. Preventative massage is great to promote healing on a regular basis. Injuries will heal quicker and won't last as long.
Check with your massage therapist about a good preventative schedule.... as although once a month may be recommended, some clients find they feel better with massage biweekly, this schedule will also be based on your affordability as well. You are in control of your schedule so how often you go is still your choice. Remember without proper maintenance of any exercise, rehabilitation and/ or massage therapy it will feel like you are starting over, and never getting better.
